There are plenty of PG-13 movies that are great films and pretty family-friendly, but that’s not what this list is for. I have kept it limited to only G and PG rated films. A bit more on critical reviews and star ratings below. Star ratings can often have more to do with the marketing campaign than anything else, which is a shame. Sidebar: Interestingly, some of the more highly rated Christian movies are kind of cheesy, whereas the lower-rated ones can sometimes be excellent. Generally lesser-known gems, like the classic screwball comedy/musical Thoroughly Modern Milliewith Julie Andrews or the sublime animated historical fantasy The Secret of Kells. Let’s see… can’t be cheesy, poorly made, full of gratuitous innuendo or sensuality, minimal or no swearing, and should actually be engaging for grownups and teens. Oh, and I take it that you’ve seen all the good “Christian” movies, and don’t want to waste your time with something that is corny and poorly made just because it has a “G” rating. Are you tired of entertainment that is either smutty and TV-MA, or slapstick cartoons?
